Day 10: Tuesday, May 2

At Sea

According to the call we got from the infirmary, we were supposed to stay sequestered until about 4;30 P.M. However, we each slipped across the aisle to grab some breakfast in the Neptune Lounge (or have someone grab it for us, since we were still in red alert). I had my breakfast on the veranda, watching us sail through hazy skies and calm seas. I updated the journal while Jill slept in, and then after she had her breakfast we put in a movie ("The Rock") and watched that while munching on crackers. Slam showed up to clean the room, so we left and went up topside. We eventually found ourselves looking at the selections on the Lido buffet, and decided to have lunch anyway. The pork cutlets were really, really good.

After lunch we took the laptop down to the explorations cafe to send email, finish the journal entry for day 8, and fill out my electronic time sheet for the week. Then, of course, it was nap time. Mom called while we were napping to see if we might be paroled in time for dinner. Since we'd already been out, I figured it was a done deal. Made arrangements to dress (formal) first and then meet in the Crow's Nest between 6:30 and 7, which gave us several hours of R&R time. I finished my nap and was playing computer games when Jill got up. I showered and changed, and we spent a leisurely hour or so getting ready while watching the end of "From Russia With Love" on the TV.

Up to the Crow's Nest a little after 6:30, and got caught up with Mom and Dad's activities when they showed up a few minutes later. They told us about all the people (passengers and crew alike) who had inquired after us the night before when we had been stuck in the room.

Dinner was good, but we didn't realize that sing-alongs started at 9:30 instead of 9:45, so we came in a bit late to the piano bar for the Broadway thing. Still, it was a lot of fun, and even M&D stayed past the first set until closing. Then it was off to bed; the time was 12:30.
